Academic journal division and imprint
The Universal History and On Remarkable Things in Various Countries highlight the interest of Ephorus of Cyme (c. 400-330 BCE) in a broader scale of historical material and issues, despite, according to Plutarch, refusing the invitation by Alexander of Macedon to accompany him as his biographer on his eastern conquests. Although limited in scope in comparison to modern historical studies, the enterprise and effort shown by Ephorus are celebrated by this publisher as its choice of imprint name for the academic journal division. Reflective of the work of World Heritage Books, the following pioneering journals explore and celebrate linkage across the human race and its interactive history rather than arbitrarily and superficially isolating people, places and phenomena. In a similar vein, scholars and staff, in addition to writers and others who contribute to these publications, are from different cultures and parts of the world, in underlining our cognitive justice and inclusive values and vision. These specialist journals that establish and advance vital foundational knowledge are expected to play a constructive role in scholarship and contribute to setting the agenda in addressing gaps in knowledge and understanding of the past and present, and building vital bridges in society and across the world.
