8. Orders
Orders are subject to availability and acceptance. Payment must be provided in full, including postage or shipping, unless otherwise stated by World Heritage Books Ltd, before World Heritage Books Ltd will despatch/fulfil postage or shipment of books and/or goods.
9. Orders and payment
Information about the cost of goods in GBP (£), in addition to postage/shipping information, is provided on this website as this merchandise becomes available or is in preparation for publication or release.
To place an order, customers should go to the relevant part of the website and follow the steps outlined, including accepted payment methods.
The currency exchange is that set by the interbank rate, slightly adjusted to account for transaction fees (processing payments from payment processors).
As more World Heritage Books Ltd goods are available in more countries in the future, the system of payments will reflect this in due course.
10. VAT rates
Books sold by World Heritage Books Ltd in the UK are zero-rated for Value Added Tax (VAT).
Goods such as pencils and posters sold by World Heritage Books Ltd in the UK that are subject to the standard rate of VAT (20%) will become subject to the standard rate of VAT (20%) after sales by the company exceed the VAT threshold or if VAT registration has taken place before this. A notice will appear on this website once VAT applies to these, or other goods sold by World Heritage Books Ltd.
VAT is applicable to customers in the European Union and other relevant jurisdictions as per the provisions for VAT in each country.
11. Discounts and promotions
Special prices may be applied during promotions. These will be advertised on the company website when applicable.
12. Pre-orders
Where an invitation is made for the pre-order of a book and/or other goods sold by World Heritage Books Ltd, the latter undertakes to provide the customer with the respective product, provided that the required postage or shipping has been paid.
Should there be a delay in the publication of the pre-order title of up to 3-4 months, information shall be relayed to the customer.
Should a delay in publication be greater in duration than 4 months, World Heritage Books Ltd shall inform the customer and provide updated information of the estimated new delivery time and ask if the customer wishes to wait for this duration for the book or product or opt for a full refund.
Should World Heritage Books Ltd be unable to fulfil the order for any reason, including force majeure, a full refund shall be issued. In such an event, information about this issue will be provided to the customer as soon as possible, and no later than 90 days after the information has become known to World Heritage Books Ltd.
Until further notice, pre-orders are only available to customers in the UK.
13. Purchase
The price of goods sold by World Heritage Books Ltd is exclusive of any applicable value added or other tax or bank charges, which the customer shall be additionally liable to pay to World Heritage Books Ltd as shown on the invoice.
Payment shall be by credit cards accepted by World Heritage Books Ltd as indicated on our website, in UK Pound Sterling, Euros and US Dollars.
Payment by bank transfer for organisations and institutions, and individuals is also possible.
All proforma invoices are subject to the order being accepted and to the availability of the goods. Proforma invoices shall lapse 30 days after issue.
If the customer fails to make payment on the due date, without prejudice to any right or remedy available to World Heritage Books Ltd, World Heritage Books Ltd shall be entitled to charge the customer an additional 4% per annum above the Bank of England Base [interest] Rate.
Costs incurred by World Heritage Books Ltd in the recovery of debt shall be payable by the customer.
World Heritage Books Ltd reserves the right to withhold (without prior notice if, at the sole discretion of the Company, immediate action is necessary) further goods in the event of failure of customers to pay outstanding amounts to the Company and if there has been a breach by the customer of any of the conditions of this agreement, or any other reason which, at the discretion of World Heritage Books Ltd, warrants such action.
Ownership of goods sold by World Heritage Books Ltd is transferred from World Heritage Books Ltd to the customer following their full payment and the issuing of a receipt or confirmation. Full payment of goods includes any fees or sum payable under the terms of this and all other contracts between the customer and World Heritage Books Ltd.
14. Delivery
World Heritage Books Ltd will arrange for the delivery of goods to the customer once payment has been made as specified on the relevant section of the website, including payment for postage/shipping. The costs of the latter are outlined on the website.
In case of any issue arising in production and/or force majeure, World Heritage Books Ltd will notify the customer and, if the book or product cannot be provided, a full refund will be provided.
The duration for postage or shipping will depend on which option the customer has selected and their location.
Delivery dates indicated on the company website once our publications and products are in stock are only a guide and are non-binding.
World Heritage Books Ltd accepts no liability for deliveries after they leave the UK and cannot be held liable for any delays to delivery as a result of local delivery issues or customs delays.
Delivery of goods is at the customer’s expense and is included in the price. Non-UK orders are sent DAP (Delivered-At-Place).
Non-UK deliveries may incur duties and taxes, and customers are liable for these payments to customs before taking delivery. World Heritage Books Ltd will include the VAT rate of EU states and a number of other countries [this information will be present in the basket of this website in the near future once our goods are available for sale to various countries] in the price to the customer.
The customer must inspect the goods on delivery and inform World Heritage Books Ltd in writing (this may include by email) within 72 hours of receipt should the goods be damaged.
Customers are responsible for providing the complete and correct postal address for the delivery of goods by World Heritage Books Ltd. Should redelivery be needed due to incorrect postal details provided by the customer, the customer is liable for any additional postage costs.
15. Statutory consumer rights
In reflection of English law [Consumer Rights Act 2015], World Heritage Books Ltd is obliged to provide goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
The customer may opt to return the books and goods sold by World Heritage Books Ltd if unsatisfied in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 – if the goods are faulty, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality – and receive a full refund. There is a 30-day ‘short-term right to reject’ where a customer can immediately seek a full refund if a good is faulty. After this period, the customer must allow the company one opportunity to repair or replace the faulty good before a refund is warranted.
In the case of a replacement, if the goods are faulty or damaged, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality, World Heritage Books Ltd will cover the cost of postage of the replacement good or goods and may request photographic evidence of damage to the original good or goods sent to the customer. Should the customer feel that the good is unsuitable, even if physically undamaged, the customer must pay postage and ensure that the book or good is returned without damage.
Goods are deemed returned once they have arrived at World Heritage Books Ltd and have been signed for by our staff.
Where digital books or products of the company have been purchased via an online provider such as Amazon, the right to cancel or seek a refund will be governed by the terms and conditions of the online provider. Customers are advised to read the terms and conditions of the provider carefully before making a purchase.
16. Liability
World Heritage Books Ltd is not responsible for any damage arising from the use of its goods. This includes indirect, incidental or consequential damage.
Subject to our conditions the total liability of World Heritage Books Ltd to the customer, whether in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise for any loss or damage, costs or expenses arising under or connection with these terms and conditions shall not exceed 100% of the amount payable by the customer to World Heritage Books Ltd under these terms and conditions in respect of the order giving rise to liability.
World Heritage Books Ltd shall not be liable to the customer, whether in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for loss of profit, revenue, use, anticipated savings, goodwill, reputation or opportunity, financial or other economic loss or any indirect or consequential loss or damage, costs or expenses whatsoever or howsoever arising from of or in connection with the terms and conditions. Therefore:
World Heritage Books Ltd shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under the agreement if any delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the reasonable control of World Heritage Books Ltd.
World Heritage Books Ltd shall not be liable for any loss suffered by the customer arising from the failure of World Heritage Books Ltd to fulfil its obligations where such failure is due to events beyond the control of World Heritage Books Ltd.
Any agreement for the supply and sale of goods on these terms and conditions shall terminate immediately if any order is made for the customer’s bankruptcy, if the customer makes any composition arrangement with its creditors, becomes subject to an administration order, goes into liquidation (other than for the purposes of amalgamation or reconstruction), if an encumbrancer takes possession or a receiver is appointed of any of the property or assets of the customers, being a trade customer, ceases or threatens to cease to carry on business, or if World Heritage Books Ltd believes any of these is about to occur. If the goods have been delivered but not paid for the price shall become immediately due and payable.
World Heritage Books Ltd reserves the right (without notice if, at the sole discretion of World Heritage Books Ltd, immediate action is necessary) to terminate supply or orders of, or (in cases where the order has been despatched) reclaim title and property in, any book which is (or in the reasonable opinion of World Heritage Books Ltd may become) the subject of a libel action or any similar reason.
